[UK] Do you own these sets?

Posted by ,

Dorling Kindersley is looking to borrow the following sets to photograph for a forthcoming book:

  • 5987 Dino Compound
  • 6080 Kings Castle (found)

If you have them and they are in a good, clean, condition, and you're in the UK and can get them to London w/c 16th February either by taking them yourself or by having them picked up by courier, please contact Toby Mann at DK (toby.mann[at]uk.dk.com). Thanks!

By in United States,

I have both and would glady grant this request, sadly Im in the USA... Any chance they want em bad enough to fly me over? Visiting London would be epic! Having my sets in a DK book would be icing on the cake, I love their books!

Too bad, I'm in France. :(

By in Serbia,

DK can't afford to buy a couple of sets for the purpose of a book with a circulation of several hundred thousand copies?

By in United Kingdom,

^ one is a set from 1984, the other from 2000. They're very likely not available anywhere any more...

I have both but, I believe DK need to get their wallet out.

By in United States,

It sounds like you offer it to them for free so your set can be in a book...is it worth it? Who knows.

Dang! Recognised the T-Rex but it's 5975 that I have, plus a few other dinosaur sets :-(

By in Japan,

I always find it funny that you refer them to Dorling Kindersley when they themselves go out of their way to market as "DK"

By in Japan,

Huh, this is the first time I haven't been able to edit a post. I wanted to clarify that I meant no offense by that, just was a little funny

By in United Kingdom,

No offence taken. I'll do as they do next time :)

What's so special about these sets?

By in United States,

By in Australia,

So do they give a copy of the book to whoever lends them the set?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wonder what the book is...

Yes, and yes I agree.

By in United Kingdom,

I have the King's Castle set. It was my first ever Lego set and is what ultimately made me fall in love with Lego. Sadly, it is thirty years old and is not in the best condition.

By in United States,

and by "borrow" they mean...

By in United States,

I have two copies of that Dino set unopened but, alas, I am in the US! Don't know why I never opened them ...
